10 years Gong - a celebration of Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Gong

2024 was a horrible year.

But I’m back, and it’s 2025! 👀

Can you believe that almost ten years have passed since Daevid Allen slipped the mortal coil? What adventures he must be having!

The wondrous Gilli Smyth has been adventuring herself since 2016.

Gong, but not forgotten.

Of course, Planet Gong is closer than ever – seven years until it returns to us in 2032, according to the mythology – we should prepare ourselves!

And, speaking of the number seven: Daevid died when he was 77 years of age (on the day after Terry Pratchett left us, March 13th 2015).

7 is a mystical number across many cultures and religions as well as spiritual and occult beliefs.  

7 symbolises completion, perfection, cosmic order.

Daevid was a Capricorn and so was David Bowie, who left us two days after his Birthday on January 10th in 2016. 

Daevid was*is a teacher. There seems to be few of them left in the world… though I suppose that is part of the perspective of getting older.
